The purpose of creating a quality and appealing resume is to add a personal touch each time your resume is sent out – Your resume introduces you as an individual. A good resume should highlight your core skills and experience, and should generate enough interest for them to read your resume. For each letter produced, a short questionnaire is required to be completed.
Tips for A Creative Resume
A Resume should be a well-written brief document that should be not longer than two-pages.
Resume should be printed on a good quality paper, usually having weight of100gsm and should be watermarked.
It should be well presented and laid out, with plenty of white space. You should avoid complex formatting.
It is highly recommended that you should avoid using long paragraphs and sentences.
Be honest and factual while preparing your Resume.
Including a personal profile of 3 to 4 lines that adds up your key experience, skills, achievements and motivations. You should insure that a little of your persona is also conveyed.
Avoid Including Unnecessary Information Such As:
Titles and headings - it should be obvious as to what document this is.
Reason for leaving - this will be covered in the interview.
Salary details - this can bang you out of contendership before you have started.
Photographs - unless it is applicable to the type of work you are involved in e.g. modeling.
Weaknesses - never tell readers what you do not have or what you have not had the opportunity to do yet.
References - you can state that they are available on request, but it is inappropriate and unprofessional to include them in your CV.
Marital Status, Religion, Nationality, Children etc. - this has no bearing on your ability to do the job.
